Indian premier League (IPL) is the biggest cricketing spectacle. The rise of IPL is phenomenal and remarkable, with each passing year it is setting new benchmark for:

How It All Started?
When Lalit Modi in 2008 introduced franchise based tournament to the world, little did he knew how far it was going to go. The first match of the league just set the league on fire and the reputation of the league being one of the best in the business just escalated since then and it's impact on Indian cricket team is just majestic as players became more confident of their abilities and professional in the approach.
How It Benefits Everybody?
It not only benefited current players playing for national team but also players from yesteryears as well as the players who plays domestic cricket (Financially). The money from IPL was inducted into the system by BCCI (Board of control for cricket in India) and was equally distributed among the state boards and built new grounds with world class facilities in relatively smaller cities like the one in Ranchi.
Broadcasters Touch As Well:
There was a time when BCCI used to pay Doordarshan Lacs of rupees to telecast a match in 90s and now it's completely different picture with BCCI getting huge money from the broadcasters per game (whether international or IPL).
Overcome The Loopholes
With everything said and done this league is still in it's early phases and has all the potential to become the most entertaining sports league in the world. It still has room for improvement and can achieve what NBA and English premier League have.
